What are the minimum hardware requirements for iAtrochart? Power Mac or PC (486 or higher), one gigabite hard drive and 16 MB RAM Which operating systems does iAtrochart support? MacOS 7.5 or later, Windows 95 or later, Filemaker Pro 5 or later In what format is data stored? FileMaker Pro TM Which language is IatroChart written in? FileMaker ProTM May I customize the standard words and phrases? Yes; one of IatroChart's strong points is that it readily accepts extensive customization. It can be customized for physicians using their own words and phrases. How long does it take to learn IatroChart? Receptionist/secretaries go through the tutorial demo three times and can do their work within a half day. (S)he will be able to create multiple patient records within a few minutes of working with IatroChart. The tutorial will teach the nurse, accountant and physician to do their portions over a weekend. May IatroChart be used by multiple users at the same time? Yes. All members of an office can work on different aspects of IatroChart simultaneously; depending on their privileges (passwords). Entry of data to a specific patient's record is limited to one user at a time. Can IatroChart be used on a Network? If so, which types? Yes. IatroChart is designed to operate on a multi-computer Local Area Network (LAN), e.g., a typical medical office with six or more computers. Internet connections would employ a firewall and modem. How is IatroChart registered or licensed? Annual renewal. Upon request, a CD will be provided for free to become familiar with the software on your computer. If further interested, you will receive personal advice for equipping your office and customizing the software (e.g., logo, name address, specific phraseology, etc). May I FAX documents from IatroChart? IatroChart permits internet/modem connection and exporting data to spreadsheet format (e.g., MS Excel). Copy and Paste will get you to any other application. Are there any other optional databases available to use with IatroChart? You can import databases e.g., fee schedules and patient records from "comma"- or "tab"-separated text records. Does IatroChart offer template charting? Are these customizable? With the entry of a new patient a full set of templates are identified with the patient's name and identification number in the 45 interactive files of the database. These are instantly accessible for the patient data entries by clicking the provided "buttons." Data entries are made by entering text into "fields" and by clicking "check-off" boxes that enter pre-programmed data choices (e.g., phrases or codes). Can I write prescriptions and lab requests with IatroChart? Yes, there may be several prescriptions associated with each visit. Lab requests can also be generated. Can I scan in my current and old paper records? While data needs to be entered into specific fields, lab reports, x-ray images, photos and commentaries from old records can be entered as scanned images or text after OCR, from other software by the Copy-Paste procedure. Computerized patient records etc, can be imported and new records generated from spread-sheet formats. Can Patient Education forms be printed? Such forms can be readily prepared according to the provider's specification. They can then be printed like other documents already provided (e.g., letters to patient, suppliers, insurance claims, prescriptions, exit documentation, etc.) What if I want my own drawings or images? Freehand drawings or other images would be generated in another application and then Copy-Paste into the provided iAtrochart image fields. Is IatroChart transportable? It is recommended to prepare daily backups of all records and weekly backups on CD ROM. The latter can be used with a different computer etc., however data generated off- line will have to be imported to the host computer to become generally accessible in the LAN. |
